How We’re Working for You
Empower G&E is dedicated to using energy programs to strengthen local economies and employ local people. Your leadership saw this quality in our culture, and we are excited to deliver on this promise.
Empower G&E has started by introducing Empower Athens as the named effort behind making Athens a responsible energy user. Your community leadership asked that Empower Athens start by offering a low cost, high impact in-home energy efficiency retrofit product.
In addition to our home retrofit, Empower Athens will be working with your community to deliver local, renewable generation, a residential solar program, and a “connected home” product. These offerings will be introduced later this year and early 2016.
Empower Athens is partnering with a number of community organizations including:
– City of Athens
– County of Athens
– UpGrade Athens
UpGrade Athens County is a county-wide collaboration between all sectors of our community including non-profit, city and county government, businesses, public schools, experts, those passionate about responsibility in energy, and those who like to WIN. We aim to raise the energy I.Q. of Athens County as a whole, increase efficiency, and lower the amount spent out of pocket on utilities. UpGrade Athens County is a true collaboration that is focused on UpGrading all aspects of our community: energy, economy, education, and innovation.
